about us

Party Ring Poetry Club is a community collective founded by Tessa James and Rosie Robson in 2022. Its main objective is to create safe environments to share written work and sound - poetry, prose, sound experiments and performance.

We run events in collaboration with exhibiting artists, learning spaces and galleries with a combination of open call and open mic structures.

On the Left: Tessa James

Her works stems from a childish desire for playfulness and intimacy. Tessa explores how games generate a protected space for vulnerability to occur, how this can build relationships and communication. The work invites the audience to participate fully, challenging inhibitions while setting boundaries in the form of thresholds and rules of play. Her practice flicks between mediums, taking various interactive forms including poetry, installation, text, and collaboration.

On the Right: Rosie Robson

Rosie is primarily a film maker who experiments with the interaction between found footage, written word, sound design and unconventional editing. Inspired by themes such as serendipity, other worlds, mysticism and humour, she  creates work that beckons the audience into the perspective of herself and her invented characters. Rosie has been gorilla publishing her own poetry since 2018.

Rosie and Tessa met while studying Fine Art and Art History at Kingston School of Art, London, both graduating in 2022
